This song has two videos watch the 2007 version. The words all that I am all that I ever was is here in your perfect eyes there all I can see father to daughter. Is him telling me that he don't know how I can hear him or feel him all the time just like I don't know how but it will always be there this connection we have. One time I was going to court after someone threatened to shoot me (which is how he was killed he was shot by a teenager) anyway had he been Alive he would've been right by my side and it's a 3 minute ride to the courthouse I get in my car and it's on a country station and the song comes on! The words I don't know where confused about how as well just know that's these things will never change for us at all. If youve ever thought that Snow Patrols song Chasing Cars is on the radio more than usual, always seems to be on in shops and is generally a song that. It would come on at times when I was going through really hard times or I needed him. I started hearing this song different after his death. I have always been able to feel him and hear him since he died especially if I am just calm and just lay there and focus on him. įor me it's about the connection between my dad and I since my dads death. I guess the bright side is he wrote the song, he's now semi-famous. He's trying to stop time before they're too far gone. I never realized the song is actually beautiful because he's trying to show someone how he feels about them, that he thinks they're beautiful. If he had the right words he wouldn't be laying there in all that pain struggle to cope with his feelings. If he had the right words he may have never written the song. And truthfully for the day and age it was released in, this track is simply based on the strong affection the singer (the selfsame Gary Lightbody) feels for his significant other.

I never really realized till I was older. Gary Lightbody, the primary writer of Chasing Cars, at the time called it the purest love song he had ever written. In the end he's laying in bed that looks like someone just left. Then he lays at the edge of town presumably trying to relax, let go, take a vacation. He then lays himself across the ground, with no will to move while making a daily commute, trying to move on but not finding any real desire to. In the beginning he sits alone in a cafe, maybe a place he'd been with his lover before? Then in the middle he lays in the middle of the road at his wit's end just imagining he's not alone. I never noticed till now the whole video, he's alone.
